We took part in Safer Internet Day on Wednesday 7th February.
We love using the internet. We use it for lots of reasons. We use it for entertainment, for socialising and for learning.
We learned how to stay safe when we are using the internet. The rules are SMART.

Junior Infants go to the Arctic!

Junior Infants have been learning all about the Arctic this week. They have created their own pictures of the Northern Lights using chalk pastels and their imaginations! I’m sure you’ll agree their pictures are spectacular.

We made rain gauges this week in Science .
We used 2 litre bottles. We cut the top off the bottle, turned the top part up-side-down and put it back into the bottle, like a funnel. 
We marked the side of the bottle in centimeters (to measure the rain). 
We will put the rain gauges outside.

Mystery Skype – Canada

We had a Mystery Skype today with St Louis School, Leamington, Ontario, Canada.
We found them, before they found us. It was great fun and it was our first Skype Call with Canada this year.
They are a 4th Grade class and their teacher is Ms. Reeb.
We hope to connect with them again.

They both involve chemical reactions. First we put ‘Mentos’ sweets into a bottle of ‘Coke’. It caused the Coke to gush out of the bottle.
